Thank you letters.

Thank you KidsCan

Dear KidsCan,

Tautoro School is very thankful that we are a Kids Can school. We appreciate that you send us warm jackets, comfortable shoes, yummy food and school resources.

Our students love getting up in the morning getting ready for school because they know that there will be weet-bix ready, waiting for them. You are one of the best organisations in the world because you think about us. Thats why Tautoro School enjoys your support.

These products comes in handy every day, as it feeds us kids, covers us if its raining or if we get a cut. Our Tautoro School students are so appreciative for all the gifts you send us.

One more BIG THANKS to Kidscan.
Thank you Hellers NZ Butchers.

Dear Hellers NZ Butchers,

Recently Tautoro School received  500 precooked sausages from your company. We appreciate you giving our school these sausages. We all know everybody loves  Heller’s sausages. However I bet you Tautoro School students love them more.

We also had a Whanau Day, where we used some of the sausages. All of the kids and parents had lots of positive comments about your sausages, because they were yummy. We are really appreciative of this donation that you made to our school.

So once again here is one more BIG THANKS to Hellers NZ Butchers.

Thank you Mid-North Budgeting services.

Dear Mid-North Budgeting Services,

Tautoro school really appreciates the loaves of bread that you donated to us.

We use this bread, in the mornings to have toast and on Whanau Days when we have sausage sizzles.

Once again A BIG THANKS to you for donating the much needed bread.

Preparing for the future.

...My writing progress made in Term 2…

Through out Term 2, the first topic we were focusing on is our narrative writing. It has been tough for me to learn another sort of writing. My progress has improved very well, I now understand the meaning of what narrative means.

I think what hindered me was my lack of self-management skills around my Chromebook as I can't write anything down without talking to somebody and this hinder me to write correctly.

Writing a nonfiction story was not exactly easy, I had to write a narrative that had to have at least 300 to 400 words. Although I found that difficult I still enjoyed my learning experience on how to write a narrative story.

I think I have  improved on my writing because the new app Read & Write helped me because I can hear the story before I tell Miss Simeon that I’m finish,

I also used a buddy writer and my buddy writer read my story and left comments about how I could improve my story or where I made mistakes in my story. Because my buddy writer found the mistakes I was not embarrassed however if Miss Simeon picked up my mistakes I would have felt ashamed. So my buddy writer helped me to become more confident and to write better.

I feel collaborative working with others in the classroom has helped me to write more confidently because we were all working together to come up with new ideas and to complete the task on time.

We were also producing movies so in order for them to be done we had to write scripts and check them off with Miss Simeon or Whaea Gaylene before we could film ourselves. I was really motivated to film my work. I love filming and I want to do more filming.
This term we are writing annotated reflections; like what I am doing right now. I feel like I have made a lot of progress and I feel more assured to write and to progress on my writing.
